Hybrid Cloud is the intersection of integrated IT service delivery paradigms; Private & Public Cloud (Cloud computing delivery) and On-Premises (traditional IT delivery) providing a cohesive and (where possible) seamless service and application experience.

When an organisation is using more than one of the above mentioned delivery methods, the consumption model is described as being “hybrid”, any combination of integrated intersection qualifies as hybrid as outlined by the Venn diagram below:

The key differentiator of Hybrid Cloud from Coexistence is that some form of integration (which could be hard or soft) enables the sharing of data (in whatever form that takes) between loosely coupled services providing a tightly coupled user experience.
